About the Plantation:
Lowndes Grove is located along the beautiful Ashley River in historic Downtown Charleston. It is a gorgeous National Historic Landmark that was restored in 2007 to serve as the perfect low country event venue. It offers groves of gorgeous live oaks, beautiful water views, and a meticulously restored historic home where charm abounds. It without a doubt offers the quintessential southern charm that so many couples search for in their wedding venue. The venu is nestled in the neighborhood of Wagener Terrace, which is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city that guests will enjoy a beautiful quiet sunset view over the Ashley River from the lawn while sipping their cocktails. For more intimate gatherings or micro weddings, The River House, is also on the grounds and available for weddings.

Lowndes Grove offers many idyllic portrait spots like the beautiful oaks, the perfectly manicured landscape, a dock overlooking the river at sunset and a classic Southern home all wrapped into one location. It doesn’t get much more convenient or Charleston than that! These eclectic backdrops are visual dreams for a photographer and make for the timeless photos I love creating. The venue also has an on site tent, which is a practical and convenient inclusion as Charleston weather can sometimes be unpredictable. The clear tent allows for the beautiful outdoors to still be visible during the reception. Inside the historic venue, there are the swoon worthy pastel walled rooms. The soft peach rooms are my favorite as they create a soft, romantic atmosphere for photos. The green rooms offer a classic Charleston hue with vintage drapes. And the covered porch on the second floor with it’s Citadel Blue floor and white pillars is a perfect view of the entire grounds. It’s no wonder Lowndes Grove continues to be Charleston’s number 1 wedding venue!
