Charleston is filled with iconic wedding venues, from historic houses to breathtaking outdoor spaces. A veranda Magnolia Plantation wedding offers the best of both worlds with pristine vistas and a historic house perfect for idyllic portraits and a romantic, intimate reception. Krista was a vision in her one-of-a-kind bridal gown with gold accents cascading down the dress. Petite earrings and a crystal hair brooch complimented her swept back hair with a couple of loose tendrils to frame her face. Tony was all smiles when he turned to see his beautiful bride-to-be. Sporting a blue suit and festive multi-colored bow tie, Tony stayed on theme with a classy look with unique touches not seen anywhere else. The duo looked just so amazing standing with each other and strolling downtown Charleston. The lovely colorful backdrops of the Mills House and Rainbow Row distracted from the on-and-off again rain. But even with overcast skies, the wedding party, families, and couple stayed upbeat and it shows in the photos.
The intimate ceremony took place on the long white bridge lawn overlooking mossy oaks. I simply was swooning over so many creative design elements of this spring soiree. The couple’s circular arbor adorned with flower sprays served as a whimsical and romantic touch to the ceremony. A great focal point among all the natural beauty. After the two recited their vows and shared a lovely, sweet kiss, they turned to face their gathered guests with the widest smiles. It was time to get the party started! And what a festive reception the two planned for their guests.
Family and friends were treated to elevated southern treats that included pickled peaches with goat cheese crostinis, foie gras cones, and crawfish empanadas. These tasty apps were chased with the signature drink, Mai Tai, which was the first drink Tony bought Krista when they met among a gathering of friends. The reception layout included a vintage lounge set and hanging chandelier for guests to casually chat when not on the dance floor. Tablescapes included arrays of roses and in some cases gold pineapples. I also enjoyed that their sweet dog, Ace, was not only in the wedding, but also featured on custom gold and white napkins. There is not a detail not thought of nor out of place with this design and I’m still swooning over it even months later.
Thank you both so much for letting my team and I join in on such an amazing day. We had a blast! We wish you nothing but good health and happiness in the many years to come. Congratulations again!
